Host Dance Festival 2022

On May 4th, DMTD was chosen to be shown at the HOST – hosted by DanceEast in Ipswich – Dance Festival 2022. I was delighted. My sister and I travelled down there for the day and did the contemporary dance classes during the day too. HOST was put on by DanceEncore, a company specifically for older dancers. There was a conversation about Older Dancers and Dance, a site specific class (we chose to do ours in the disabled toilet) and an evening of performance and film. I was so happy to find out that Dance Me To Death, the film, had been chosen as the first film on in the theatre for the showcase. It was brilliant to see it again on the big screen and the feedback about how moving people (a new audience) found it – made me feel how important it is to create films about death and dying.
